AI Visibility Checker

Enter a domain and get a 0–100 AI-visibility score in seconds — crawler access, llms.txt, schema, metadata and answer-shaped copy, each with the exact fix.

Quick answer

AI visibility is whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini can read, trust and cite your site. This checker fetches your homepage, robots.txt, llms.txt, sitemap and structured data live, scores the eleven signals answer engines weigh from 0 to 100, and gives the exact fix for every gap.

Enter a domain to score its AI visibility — free, instant, nothing stored.

What AI visibility actually is

When someone asks ChatGPT or Perplexity for a recommendation, the engine assembles an answer from what it can read about you: whether its crawler is allowed in, whether your pages state plainly what you do, whether your entity is machine-verifiable, and whether a quotable answer sits near the top of the page. AI visibility is the sum of those signals — and almost all of them are technical, checkable, and fixable in an afternoon.

The eleven signals this checker audits

SignalWhy answer engines weigh itWeight
AI crawler accessA blocked GPTBot or PerplexityBot means zero citations from that engine, forever, no matter what else you fix.14%
Structured data (JSON-LD)Organization and LocalBusiness markup give engines a verified entity to attach citations to.14%
llms.txtThe curated brief that tells models which pages to read first and how to describe you.12%
Title tagThe strongest single entity statement on a page — and what engines quote verbatim.10%
Answer-shaped copyA 2–3 sentence plain-language opening with concrete numbers is the chunk engines lift.10%
Meta descriptionThe fallback summary engines reuse when they paraphrase your link.8%
H1 headingStates what the page is in one machine-parsable line.8%
XML sitemapComplete URL discovery for engines that crawl before they cite.8%
Open Graph tagsReused when engines summarise or preview your link.6%

How to track AI visibility over time

Re-run this checker after every meaningful change — it measures readiness, not results. For results, ask live models whether they name you with the AI Brand Mention Tracker, follow your answer position with the AI Rank Tracker, or run a ChatGPT-specific check with the ChatGPT Visibility Checker. Readiness first, mentions second — tracking a blocked site just measures the block.

What a good score looks like

  • 90–100 (A): every major engine can read, verify and quote you. Keep files fresh as content changes.
  • 75–89 (B): citable, but warnings are costing you ranking positions inside answers.
  • 60–74 (C): engines can reach you but struggle to describe or trust you — schema and llms.txt usually missing.
  • Below 60 (D/F): something is hard-blocked or missing. Fix the red checks first; nothing else moves the needle until you do.

From score to cited

The fixes this checker proposes are the same ones our full scanner ships as deploy-ready files: an AI-aware robots.txt, an llms.txt, and Organization JSON-LD. Generate, publish, and re-check — most sites move a full grade in one session.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI visibility checker?
It audits the technical signals that decide whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude can read, trust and cite your site: AI crawler access in robots.txt, llms.txt, structured data, metadata, sitemap and answer-shaped copy — and turns them into one score you can improve.
How is the AI visibility score calculated?
Eleven weighted checks are fetched live from your domain. Crawler access and structured data carry the most weight; a hard block or a missing entity scores zero for that check. Pass earns the full weight, a warning earns partial credit, and the total is normalised to 0–100.
How is this different from the brand mention tracker?
The checker audits whether your site is readable and citable — the foundation. The AI Brand Mention Tracker and AI Rank Tracker ask live models whether you actually get mentioned today. Fix what the checker finds first; tracking before fixing just measures the same problem repeatedly.
Does the check touch my pages or cost anything?
No signup, no cost. The checker fetches your homepage, robots.txt, llms.txt, sitemap.xml and .well-known/ai-plugin.json exactly as an AI crawler would, and nothing is stored.
What score should I aim for?
Above 90. Below 75 you are leaving citation chances on the table; any single hard fail — a blocked GPTBot or missing structured data — can zero your visibility on an engine regardless of content quality.
