Part of AI Search Optimization
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)
AEO is the discipline of structuring content so that answer engines — Google AI Overviews, voice assistants, ChatGPT search — quote it directly.
Overview
Answer Engine Optimization is the format-and-structure half of GEO. While GEO covers the full surface (technical, structured, semantic), AEO zooms in on the page itself: clear question-shaped headings, short answer paragraphs that lead with the conclusion, lists, tables, and Speakable JSON-LD for voice. AEO content is written so any single paragraph stands alone as a citable unit.
Components
- Question-shaped H2s
